Dr. Joel Gagnon


Vascular Surgeon

Dr. Joel Gagnon is a Royal College Board-Certified Vascular Surgeon with special interest in Venous Ulceration. Alongside working at our False Creek Healthcare Centre, he also serves as a Vascular Surgeon at the Vancouver General Hospital. He is fellowship trained in advanced endovascular techniques and has practised all aspects of vascular surgery, including advanced surgical management of venous diseases.

He received his Medical Doctorate (MD) from L’Université de Sherbrooke in 1999. He completed his Residency in General Surgery at Laval University in 2004 and Vascular Surgery in 2006 from the University of British Columbia. He holds a Fellowship in Endovascular Surgery from the University Medical Centre Groningen, Groningen, The Netherlands; Klinikum Nuremburg, Nuremberg, Germany; and Epworth Centre, Melbourne, Australia. He is an assistant clinical professor at the University of British Columbia, and has published in the areas of upper-extremity deep vein thrombosis management, magnetic resonance imaging [MRI], and the use of cyanoacrylate polymers in the treatment of varicose veins.
