Asian eye surgery creates or enhances the upper eyelid crease in order to create more oval-shaped eye.
What is Asian eye surgery?
Asian eye surgery, or Asian blepharoplasty, is a cosmetic medical procedure which creates or enhances the upper eyelid crease, often when none existed before. If you are looking for eyes that appear larger and more open, as well as wider peripheral vision, this procedure may be the right choice for you.
What to expect with Asian eye surgery
Your plastic surgeon will make an incision along the eyelid from the inner to the outer corner of the eye where a crease would normally appear. Once this incision heals, it will be well hidden in the newly formed crease. The Asian blepharoplasty procedure generally takes two to four hours under light general anaesthesia allowing you to return home afterwards.
Recovery after Asian eye surgery
You will experience some bruising and swelling, which is easily manageable medication, the application of a cold compress, and by reducing your activity level. Sutures will be removed after about a week, at which time you can wear contact lenses and makeup and will be able to return to work. Your eyes will possess a more oval-like shape, which allows for your peripheral vision to increase.
